Eat More Fibrous Foods and Less Sugar

Whenever you’re finished eating, be sure to drink plenty of water and brush your teeth, eliminating any food particles that may remain.

Vegetables are an excellent option for snacks as meals, as they are low in sugars and generally fibrous. Chewing vegetables like broccoli, asparagus, and Brussel sprouts, scrubs the surface of the teeth, sweeping away bacterial buildup.

Brush, Floss, and Use Fluoride

Fluoride remineralizes the enamel and helps to slow the progress of decay, leading to better long-term oral health. While many municipal water supplies are fluoridated to promote public oral health, it is always a good idea to speak with your dentist as to whether additional fluoridation through toothpaste is necessary.
